Incident Safety Officer Training with CSFD – Friday, February 27th @ 1:00pm

  • Incident Safety Officer Training with CSFD
     February 27, 2026
     1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Come join SOCO ASSP and special guest, Rick Schmidt, on how CSFD successfully facilitates ISO training.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department’s Incident Safety Officer (ISO) training equips responders to identify, evaluate, and manage risk in dynamic, all-hazards environments through a program grounded in nationally recognized standards such as NFPA 1521 and reinforced by statewide and national best practices. CSFD’s robust training philosophy, centered on safety, operational readiness, and strict adherence to professional standards, creates an environment where ISO competencies are intentionally developed and consistently reinforced. Through scenario-based exercises, real-world case studies, and coordinated instruction with command staff, participants build advanced skills in hazard recognition, operational risk assessment, and effective integration within the Incident Command System. This comprehensive approach strengthens organizational resilience by ensuring that qualified safety officers can anticipate changing conditions, support strategic decision‑making, and deliver clear, timely, and actionable safety oversight during complex operations.
